Meet Melinda Baum

MSW, LCSW-A

Supporting Teenagers (16+) and adults of all ages

I believe everyone deserves a space to be heard and to live in a world where they hold space with authenticity.

Showing up in life can be hard, and you have done just that every single day of yours. You have navigated the hours, days, months, years, and every single challenge that brought you here.

Sometimes, showing up in the world looks different, whether that is due to  grief, loss, chronic illness, life transitions, etc.,—or maybe you are just feeling stuck and unable to thrive the way you had hoped. Therapy is a way to explore and navigate life in a safe environment, learn coping strategies and tools for you to continue showing up in the world while being resilient and being the best version of yourself.

I believe you are strong, resilient, and hold the power within to heal.

Hi, I’m Melinda

I am a combat Army veteran, married to my best friend who I met while serving in the military. I am a mom of three kiddos, and a labradoodle, Teddy.  I am a lover of all things in nature, to include surfing, swimming in the ocean, gardening, and outdoor walks.

I am passionate about mental health, as I have witnessed how mental health stigma and gaps in mental health care and services impact the lives of individuals and families.

Whether you're navigating the loss of a loved one, a shift in relationships, a major life change, or the ongoing challenges of chronic pain, illness, or moral injury, I provide compassionate support that honors your experience. Together, we work to process complex emotions, reclaim your sense of identity, and build resilience as you move forward with care and intention.

Meet Teddy, Melinda’s In-Training Therapy Dog

Meet Theodore, AKA Teddy!

Teddy is a sweet, joyful, and happy labradoodle. He always brightens the day with his willingness to share space in a quiet, gentle manner.

Although often shy at first, Teddy loves getting to know people and has a gentle way of providing comfort in just the right moments.

During his free time, Teddy loves to join me on bike rides, long walks, car rides, swimming, and adores celebrating surfers catching waves at the beach by running in the water!

My Approach

I believe you are the expert of your story, and have the power to break through barriers to create positive change. My goal is to come alongside you and meet you exactly where you are on your journey.

My therapeutic approach is warm, empathetic, curious, and collaborative. I believe that each individual has the capacity to heal by reclaiming their narrative and constructing a life of meaning and wellness.

I will come alongside you to create a sense of agency by exploring your strengths, and challenging any limited beliefs that may have stemmed from previous life experiences, trauma or limited social constructs. My desire is that you will thrive and discover the very things you value in order to face life’s challenges and live a life filled with hope.
